Last weekend, the presidents of the 3 student unions in Ondo state were reported to have had an auto crash on Owo-Akure Road.
They were the presidents of the student unions of the Federal University of Technology. They died in a lone accident at Emure Ile Junction on the expressway on Friday night around 8pm according to the spokesman for the state police command, Aremu Adenitran who said it was due to over speeding.
They were returning to their institutions from Abuja where they had gone to witness the presentation of an award to the state governor, Olusegun Mimiko and some other eminent Nigerians by the National Association of Nigerian students.
Apparently, Vice President of External Affairs, Aremo Gbenga Oyebode unfortunately died yesterday, as a result of injuries sustained in the auto crash.
Therefore, The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS, Comrade Dauda Mohammed has hereby declared a 3 day of National mourning on all campuses as a mark of honour for this gallant Comrade.
He also appeals to colleagues particularly at the Adeyemi Colleage of Education to remain calm.
Apparently most higher institutions are on vacation.
