I just came across this dance step recently and believe me i am so much loving it. Well call me stale if you like, but this Azonto dance will never be stale...lol at least for a while.
Azonto is a Ghanaian Dance Craze which i feel is still making waves around the world and everyone seems to be trying it out and posting funny moves of the dance on the video channel, You tube.
From what i gather the Azonto dance is said to have orginated from the traditional Ghanaian dance, Kpanlogo. It was originally called Apaa (meaning work). And it first started in down town, Accra, areas like Bukom, James Town, Chorkor and in the port town of Tema.
The dance is all about shaking of hips, pointing fingers and sometimes trying to make your hands busy.
I also love the song "watch me do the Azonto". I must put up my own version of the dance soon.
