As Nigeria looks forward to January 1 2014 to mark 100yrs of nationhood since the amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorates by the then Governor General of Nigeria, Sir Fredrick Lord Lugard, the Bayelsa State government has obtained the right to host the 36 contestants participating in the Miss Nigerian Beauty pageant.
Organizer of the pageant, Nike Osinowo said that Bayelsa won the hosting right due to the existing peace in the State. She also said the program would commence in Bayelsa in the second phase with camping of the contestants for 2weeks.
And guess what the winner will benefit? She is expected to reign for the rest of her life with stewardship under the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and social development to promote different courses that affect the Nigerian women.
She is also expected to have a full scholarship to attend any institution of higher learning anywhere in the word, monthly income for the rest of her life.
She will also be crowned by the first lady and a car to be replaced every 5yrs for the rest of her life.
