CHECK OUT DEMI MOORE'S REAL NAME

I wonder why people don't really like their names. It could really be shameful... You hear someone with a name as beautiful as "Bose" change to "Kasabella" for what na?
We also have names shortened to funky names till the extent that you are surprised that isnt their full names.
A Nigerian actress, Rukky Sandas is known as Rukayatu...Jim Iyke nko, Ikechukwu James Esomugha, like for real? All their newly acquired names have been stuck in our heads.

Demi Moorewho is an American actress also doesn't like her name has her real name is Demetria Guynes... Someone should actually tell her that her name doesn't seem long, if that is the reason she changed it.
Left to me i love Demi Moore better.

Authorities of Lead City University, Ibadan, have criticised the suspension of the university’s licence by the National Universities Commission.

BBA JUNIA AND BOYFRIEND, MALONZA LEAVES THE HOUSE

Namibian Junia and Kenyan Malonza have been kicked out of Big Brother Africa on the 63rd day of the reality show.
Junia who is sorta deceived by Malonza cried like a baby when BBA host, Nigerian IK announced that Malonza should leave the house. junia was there fore the next person to leave.
At least they have all the time to make out (if you ask me). i just wish she knows malonza refers to her as his friend and nothing more.
Other housemates such as Goldie, Prezzo, Lady May and Kyle were saved. if you really ask me, i wonder why Kyle wasn't evicted, left to me i don't see his relevance in the house.
Over Confident Lady May was saved despite the fact that she was nominated 5 times by the rest of the housemates...apparently they seem not to like her.
Everyone was expecting the Kenyan housemate, Prezzo to be evicted but surprisingly he was saved...i don't know why ooo...
And cry cry baby, Goldie was sobbing through out even when they had not yet mentioned her name...the annoying thing is that she thinks Prezzo wants her in the house...wish i could whisper that into her ear.

Serena Williams has been crowned Wimbledon champion for the fifth time

Serena Williams has been crowned Wimbledon champion for the fifth time as the American subdued a brave fightback from Polish third seed Agnieszka Radwanska to win 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in a dramatic final.

Serena, who pockets a cheque for £1.15 milllion ($1.78 million), is the first woman over 30 to win Wimbledon since Martina Navratilova in 1990 and she needed all the experience gathered over her illustrious career to survive a remarkable revival from Radwanska.
After being completely out-classed for the first set and a half of her maiden Grand Slam final, Radwanska had Serena on the ropes before the sixth seed finally recovered her composure to reclaim the Venus Rosewater Dish in just over two hours on Centre Court.
Williams has now equalled her sister Venus's tally of five titles at the All England Club, but more significantly the 30-year-old's 14th Grand Slam crown is her first at the majors since her last Wimbledon triumph in 2010.

REPAIRS BEGIN ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE TODAY.

Repair works on the eight expansion joints of the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, have already started says Minister of State for Works, Bashir Yuguda.

Consequently, the bridge will be partially closed from the midnight of the same day.

Yuguda announced this at a stakeholders’ forum that preceded the handing over of the bridge to the contractor in Lagos on Friday.

The repair is expected to last four months and will be completed on Nov. 6. 2012.

The first phase of the replacement of the expansion joints, according to Yuguda, would start on the Lagos Island-bound carriageway between the Ebute-Meta interchange and Adeniji Adele end of the bridge. The second phase, he said, would involve the Oworonshoki-bound carriageway between Adeniji Adele and Ebute-Meta interchange.

As a result, movement on the bridge from Oworonshoki to Lagos Island will only be permitted from 11pm to 12pm every day, while movement out of Lagos Island to Oworonshoki and Yaba will be from 12pm to 11pm.

Yuguda said security and traffic management issues had been addressed in the series of stakeholder meetings held in anticipation of the maintenance work, just as alternative routes to and from the Island have been identified for use by residents while the repairs last.

The alternative routes for road users are: Ikorodu Road-Yaba-Oyingbo-Iddo-Lagos Island; Ikorodu Road-Western Avenue-Lagos Island; Agege Motor Road-Oshodi-Apapa-Lagos Island-Victoria Island; and Apapa-Oshodi Expressway-Mile 2-Orile-Lagos Island-Victoria Island.

Guess what? Ghana has banned the use of mobile phones by drivers in traffic.

The ban is part of a legislative instrument placed before parliament by the Minister of Transport to check practices that lead to avoidable road accidents, the state-owned Graphic reported on Friday.

It said the legislative instrument bans the use of mobile phones and the operation of television monitors on the dashboards of vehicles.

It is now illegal for drivers to use hand-held communication devices, such as mobile phones, to make calls, send or receive messages or access the internet while driving.

Will this work in Nigeria? hmmm...*lips sealed*

FG banks on foreign assistance to tackle insecurity

Nigeria is to strengthen the joint action between its security forces and their foreign counterparts as it seeks solutions to its security challenges.

President Goodluck Jonathan said during the opening of the 12th meeting of the Honourary International Investors Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday, the  step was aimed at making the country investors’ preferred destination.

He said, “On the issue of security, we are building the capacity of the police and other related agencies to fight crimes and defeat terrorism.
“We have also strengthened coordinated joint action between our security agencies and their counterparts abroad.
“The recent overhaul of our security team should herald a fresh approach towards frontally tackling our security challenge in all its ramifications.”

ARSENAL POSTPONE VISIT TO NIGERIA

The most awaited game in Nigeria which was to take place on August 5 in Abuja has been canceled. The English club said they have taken the decision “as a result of complexities linked to the planned game against Nigeria on Saturday, August 5 in Abuja.”

Whatever that means should obviously ball down to the security challeges in Nigeria especially in the northern parts of the country and Abuja. The Federal Capital Territory recorded another bomb blast barely three days before the club changed their plans.

Even though the state of Abuja National Stadium had come up in the series of talks for the visit, the state of security in Nigeria was a challenge at the onset as it topped the list of conditions for the visit. It was for that reason that they initially chose to play only in Lagos and a few southern cities with Calabar on top of the list.

The tour was later practically cut down to only a match in Abuja to manage their visit more manageable but since that decision Kano, Yobe, Borno, Kaduna and Bauchi states have witnessed heavy bombings.

Arsenal marketing director Angus Kinnear said, “Bringing a top-level club to an international market is always complicated and logistically challenging. With the proposed match in Nigeria planned for early August, we could not get comfortable on everything needed to satisfy our requirements, so we have reluctantly taken the decision to postpone the team’s visit. (If you ask me that is really a polite excuse)

He apologizes to the huge fans in Nigeria and politely says the team won't“ be visiting this summer but we should expect them next summer since they have a long-term commitment to Nigeria.

9ICE MOVES ON

A lot of people may think i am talking about his relationship status but well...its something different this time around.

I am actually talking about his music career and reports have it that the Alapomeji records label has been signed on a new music label, Diesel music.

An industry source said the deal was signed not long ago between 9ice and the record label owned by Nino. Diesel music already has Shyne and Smoothly as artistes on the label.

Apparently the Gongo Aso crooner has already done some music collaborations with Diesel Music artistes. Some of the singles will hit the airwaves in few weeks time.

Seems like 9ice is struggling to rekindle his nose-diving music career.

Well he was recently seen in a Yoruba movie, titled "Jejere" where he played the lead role.

Just few months ago, it was said that he sacked his long time manager, Dehinde Fajana.

WILL GOLDIE BE SAVED?

If you ask me, i really don't know, in fact i am indifferent. But it will be soooo kool if Prezzo leaves the house before her, at least this may give her time for her to adjust and face the game squarely.
When i was watching big brother yesterday, comments on the screen were the support for Goldie and all. There was one that i had to concur with, someone said "i will vote for Goldie because she is really humble" and that is very true.
The munched pix below indicates that Denrele is also going to vote for Goldie(obviously, it was sooooo expected)... Reports also has it that media house, RayPower also is in the supporting game.

Goldie saved Kenya's Prezzo and sent South Africa's Barbz home...What a wrong move. And now Prezzo tells Big Brother that he is tired of her and he is done with her and so nominating her is the best choice.
