"I am single and searching" - Rita Dominic

One of the biggest heart aches giving famous thespian, Rita Dominic, sleepless nights is her single status. And the Imo State-born star, who recently clocked 38, has finally bared her mind on the circumstances that led to her being single and searching at almost four scores on earth.

"I don’t talk about my personal life because some years ago, I was in this relationship that became public, and the press killed it. The relationship didn’t work out because the press put a lot of pressure on it and it didn’t work out; since then I decided to guard my personal life jealously.

"After that relationship I met somebody else and we dated for four years. We thought we were almost going to get married but it didn’t work out. I met somebody else and it didn’t work out again so I decided to just concentrate on my work. I embarked on a whole lot of projects, now I’m through with them and I think I am now ready for another. I am single and searching," she said in a chat with Toolz on the Juice.

Breaking News: Massacre in Abuja.

About 20 persons have been confirmed dead early hours of this morning by unknown uniform gunmen behind the Legislators quarters in Apo Abuja.

Eye witness account told Hot98.3fm Abuja that the shooting started about 12 midnight at an uncompleted building where homeless people live.

Most of the deceased are Keke Napep drivers, who mostly live in the uncompleted buildings that was raided by the unknown uniform men.

Ombatse Cult: President Jonathan Orders Deployment Of Troops To Nasarawa

The Federal Government has ordered immediate deployment of troops to troubled Nasarawa state. The Director, Army Public Relations Department, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attahiru, told journalists in Abuja the troops, will join the police to stem the tide of violence in the state.

The North-central state descended into chaos Friday following clashes between two ethnic groups.
An unknown number of people have died while several thousand others were displaced after their houses were razed in the violence now in its sixth day.

As commander-in-chief, President Goodluck Jonathan must approve deployment of troops to any part of the country.

Recipe: Strawberry Shortcake, Enjoy!

I have a close friend that loves this...infact she is a lover of food. And you know she is not the only one that does so i decided to post this so when you are hungry and you have the energy to prepare something. Take out time to prepare this...

Ingredients
1 3/4 cups whole-wheat pastry flour, sifted
1/4 cup all-purpose (plain) flour, sifted
2 1/2 teaspoons low-sodium baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup trans-free margarine (chilled)
3/4 cup fat-free milk (chilled)

For the topping
6 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
3/4 cup (6 ounces) plain fat-free yogurt
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, re-sift the flours, baking powder and sugar together. Using a fork, cut the chilled margarine into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the chilled milk and stir just until a moist dough forms.
Turn the dough onto a generously floured work surface and, with floured hands, knead gently 6 to 8 times until the dough is smooth and manageable. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough into a rectangle 1/4-inch thick. Cut into 8 squares. Place the squares onto the prepared baking pan and bake until golden, 10 to 12 minutes.
Transfer the biscuits onto individual plates. Top each with 1 cup strawberries and 1 1/2 tablespoons yogurt. Serve immediately.

Ibinabo Stops Tribute Nights Celebrations For Departed Veterans

The President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima has disclosed that the Guild will no longer hold Tribute Nights for the deceased actors or its dead veterans any longer. The former beauty queen revealed this recently to journalists in Lagos.

She said that it was becoming a habit in the industry to celebrate those who have put a lot into the movie industry and the entertainment industry generally after they must have gone to the world beyond, adding that she is not happy about such attitude.

Ibinabo stated this following the refusal of some members of the guild to key into her health scheme, which she promised to introduce during her inauguration in November 2012 in Lagos.

She stressed the need for actors to register for the health insurance scheme introduced by her through which they can get free treatments anywhere in Nigeria.

‘I’ll keep helping people to participate in BBA’ - Denrele Edun

Popular television presenter, Denrele Edun, has vowed to keep on providing assistance to fellow Nigerians who want to participate in the Big Brother Africa reality TV show in the future.

Known to his fans as Denrele, he said this in response to those who severely criticised him for his presumed role in the appearance of Nigeria’s controversial female representative in the 2013 BBA show, Beverly Osu.

Denrele said Beverly’s failure to emerge winner of the show, which ended on Sunday, and to take home the $300, 000 star prize, would not deter her from succeeding in life.

OJB's house demolished

Reports from Nigeriafilms.com have it that the ailing music producer, Babatunde Okunbowa a.k.a OJB Jezreel has finally travelled abroad for his transplant and few days before he left, his No 4, Gbaja street, Surulere lagos flat was demolished by his landlord.

Reports have it that OJB would no longer live at the residence if he returns from India. The only building in the premises that housed OJB's home and studio was demolished by the original owners of the property. Reasons due to the fact that OJB has already packed out and the property owners decided to build more flats in the compound.

IYANYA'S "YOUR WAIST" ANGERS ORGANISERS OF ABUJA RALLY

Organisers of celebration of Nigerian Women for Peace and Empowerment on Thursday stopped midway the performance of Iyanya who played the track "Your Waist" during the Carnival Road Show and Rally.

Òver 50,000 women gathered at Eagle Square Abuja for the show organised by the National Council for women societies and the office or the first lady.

Several artistes took the stage. Ònyeka Onwenu and Soni Danja were among those that performed. But when it got to Iyanya's turn, he opened with the track "Your Waist"  forcing the master of ceremony to call off his performance.

Malawi FA Wants Fifa to Shift Nigeria Game From Calabar on Security Reasons.

 The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has lodged a written complaint to Fifa over security concerns in Calabar where the Flames are scheduled to play Nigeria in the World Cup Qualifiers encounter.

The second complaint is protesting on the appointment of match referee by questioning the decision of early disclosure of the match officials.

The Press Release communicated Sunday, August 11, 2013 and signed by Fam General Secretary, Sugzo Nyirenda was headlined, “Protest to Fifa over Security in Calabar and Appointment of Match Referee-2014 World Cup Group Match- Nigeria vs. Malawi.

“FAM has on 7th August written Fifa General Secretary complaining on the above matters relating to the match between Malawi and Nigeria on September 7, 2013,” reads the first paragraph.

On security concerns, Fam states that there is security risk in Calabar where the match will be played as reported by the Commonwealth Commission.

 Another baby was found abandoned in a Lagos canal. The aby who still had its umbilical cord is suspected to be about 3days old. The baby was found floating atop a canal located at Orisan Street, by Iyana bus stop, Ajangbadi, Lagos.
