GUESS WHO IS REPRESENTING NIGERIA TO BEAR THE OLYMPIC TORCH.

Funke Khadijat Akindele Oloyede, Banky W, Kanu Nwankwo, Sasha and Steve Onu popularly called Yaw have been named as Nigeria's representatives to bear the prestigious Olympic Torch.

The top Nigerian celebrities would be in London this summer at an event heralding the age long event which started in Greece. The city of London would host the world in an Olympic Games starting in July, 2012.

They will carry the torch at an Olympic Torch Relay holding in Coventry on Sunday, July 1, 2012.

Controversial rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem was the first Nigerian artiste to bear the Olympic Torch. He achieved this feat while still signed on Kennis Music in his hay days in the music industry.

Funke Akindele is a top Nollywood actress who recently got married. Banky W is an RnB Nigerian singer.

Kanu Nwankwo is an ex-Nigerian football international and a former African footballer of the year. He is also an Olympic gold medalist, which he won in 1996.

Yaw is a top Nigerian radio presenter with Wazobia FM, Lagos. And Sasha is a Nigerian rapper.

On July 1, 2012 which makes the 44th day of  the 80 day on-going Olympic relay, Sasha will carry the torch in Birmingham UK for the stipulated 300 meters.

The Olympic torch relay which kicked off on May 19, 2012 when the first torch was lit by England football player David Beckham will end on July 27, 2012 marking the beginning of the Summer Olympics UK 2012.

For these celebrities chosen, it would be a lifetime honour and privilege to add being 'a former Olympic Torch bearer' in their profiles. It shows they have had a good track career records. In all the top celebrities in Nigeria, they have been chosen to carry the Olympic Torch. Congrats to them all.

50 CENT CREDITS BULLETPROOF SUV FOR SAVING HIM

The G-Unit rapper said his bulletproof vehicle saved him from getting serious injury when his car was rear-ended by a Mack Truck.

Explaining what happened that day, the rhymer recalled, "We were just riding down the LIE and a Mack Truck - he said he lost control of the vehicle later to police officers because his load shifted. He tried to brake, his load shifted, and he lost control and he ran into the back of the truck."

Denying speculation that the accident was just a publicity stunt before his new album "5 (Murder by Numbers)" comes out, he said, "Trust me, I have enough money to not hit myself with a Mack Truck to try to get a few dollars. What's the thought process on this? It makes no sense to me."

SHINA PETERS TO START MUSIC SCHOOL

  Afrojuju creator Sir Shina Peters has revealed he's ready to start a music school . The legend who recently turned 54 said he wants people to tap from his experience on how he created afrojuju, and that is why he wants to build a music school.

TUNDE EDNUT NOT YET POPULAR IN ABUJA

Thursday, 28th of June 2012, the "catching cold" crooner, Tunde Ednut was in Abuja (i don't know if he is still in the FCT sha) and he visited Hot 98.3fm and he was on "Drive-in" with KIKI.
So when the show started by 6pm, Kiki put it up on HOT FM's face book that the musician was in the studio and fans of his should send their questions so she could read it out to him.

Michael Jackson's tiger dies of lung cancer

Thriller, a tiger that belonged to Michael Jackson when the entertainer lived at his Neverland ranch, has died of lung cancer at actress-activist Tippi Hedren's wildlife preserve in California.

The 13-year-old, 375-pound tiger died June 11, Hedren said Wednesday. A necropsy was performed and the tiger was cremated. Staff workers will hold a private service when the ashes are buried in a section of the preserve set aside for animals that die there.

Ke$ha’s provocative new lip tattoo

In the few years that Ke$ha has been on the music scene, she's attempted to prove time and again that she's a bad girl who doesn't care what other people think. Her latest message to the world? A tattoo on her inner lip that says "Suck it!"

The 25-year-old "Tik Tok" and "Sleazy" singer posted a photo on twitter, Wednesday featuring the body art. She wrote: "New tatt!!!" and mentioned Alchemy Tattoo in Silver Lake, California. The photo shows Ke$ha pulling down her lower lip to reveal the provocatively worded tattoo.
The "Suck it!" ink reportedly brings Ke$ha's total tattoo count to six, including two do-it-yourself tattoos that she applied with a safety pin and a pen.

Snoop Dogg busted by drug-sniffing dog in Norwegian airport

Norwegian media are reporting that Snoop Dogg was briefly detained in Norway after entering the country with marijuana and a large amount of cash.
Customs officials decline to confirm the report, saying only that an American artist entered Norway with a small amount of marijuana that was detected by a sniffer-dog. Norwegian law prevents law enforcement officials from naming suspects.

   A customs officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said Thursday that the artist was also carrying more cash than is legally allowed and was subsequently fined 52,000 kroner ($8,600) for the violations.
Snoop Dogg was scheduled to perform Thursday at a musical festival in the southern town of Kristiansand.
The rapper, whose name is Calvin Broadus, has in the past been arrested on marijuana possession.

BECKHAM DROPPED FROM OLYMPICS SQUAD

Former England Captain, David Beckham, has been dropped from Team Great Britain's Olympic football squad. The LA Galaxy midfielder was expected to be named along with Craig Bellamy and Ryan Giggs, as the tree over-age players in the squad, but Stuart Pearce has decided otherwise.

The 37-year old said he would have been honored to have been part of this unique Team GB squad. Though he is disappointed but he hopes they can win the gold.

Beckham adds that as a Londoner he would have been really proud to have played a small part in bringing the Olympics to his home town as part of Seb's team.

He consoles himself by saying he will enjoy every moment along with the rest of Great Britain.

HEAVY DOWNPOUR IN LAGOS CAUSES CLOSURE OF SOME SCHOOLS.

The heavy downpour witnessed in many parts of Lagos on Thursday morning has led to the closure of some of the state's public schools.

People could not go to their place of work... Despite the fact the downpour was heavy, it still cant be measurable to that of the previous one that took away lives. We thank God for that though.

WHITNEY HOUSTON AND JORDIN SPARKS' "CELEBRATE" VIDEO RELEASED

The official video for the upbeat "CELEBRATE" which the late Whitney Houston recorded with co-star, Jordin Sparks for their film, "Sparkle", has just been released. "Celebrate" is the final song recorded by the late legend and it showcases Sparks and her co-stars enjoying an evening at home.
Houston was absent, though the footage was blended with video of her role in the movie: she plays the single mother of an aspiring vocal trio (Sparks, Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter).
Sparkle will be in theaters August 17.

OLIVIER GIROUD JOINS ARSENAL FROM JULY 1

Giroud is the second signing of the transfer window for Arsenal, who prior to the start of Euro 2012 confirmed  they had secured Germany International Lukas Podolski from cologne.

The striker, 25, has completed a medical with Arsenal and will join  the club in a transfer worth in the region of 13 million pounds once the formalities of the deal have been completed.

Arsene Wenger is really delighted to have secured the signing of Olivier Giroud. He adds that the new player will add an additional dimension to Arsenal's attacking options next season.

MICHAEL JACKSON REMEMBERED BY BROTHERS

Today marks 3yrs since Michael Jackson passed away. His elder brother, Jermaine Jackson expressed his deep-seated disappointment at how his brother has been commemorated in America since his death in 2009.

Jermaine says he thinks America has let Michael down and if Michael was from any other country they would have erected permanent tributes to him for what he has done for music.

He also adds that the Jackson family remains locked in grief and still seeking closure on what really happened during Micheal's final hours.

Jermaine Jackson is currently on a US tour with his 3 brothers, the first since the 1984 victory tour.

 Yipeee!!! ShopRite in Abuja...Wow. if you ask me, i am kinda happy about it being in Abuja especially when it is a stone throw from my crib but ehennnn the traffic na big issue ooooo....
It was officially opened yesterday, June 21, 2012 at Apo, Abuja and the traffic na dieee.. I wanted to go see for myself yesterday at least to window shop and buy somethings i could buy but i was so annoyed because of the traffic that i had to go home.
People that have gone there claim there isn't enough parking space.
The road leading to the mall and to my estate is very narrow making the traffic frustrating.
Well i am gonna check it out this Saturday, i mean the mall because i heard there are cheap cheap tinz ohhhh....lol...see you there then.

WHITE NIGERIAN RELEASES ANOTHER SINGLE "KOLOMBI" FEATURING VICTORIOUZ

White Nigerian aka Mr.Jammal is a 23 year old graduate with both a Bachelors and masters Degree in Global Management. He joined the entertainment industry in 2010 after he was discovered on You tube.

DIDIER ROGBA JOINS CHINESE SHANGHAI SHENENHUA FOR £25M

It has been confirmed that former Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba has signed for Chinese' Shanghai Shenhua for £25M on a two and half year deal and believes he has made the 'right move'.

        Drogba decided to leave Chelsea at the end of last season after scoring the winning penalty in the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich. 

     Drogba says he feels that Shanghai Shenhua FC is the right move at this time, considering all the offers he has received in the past few weeks. 

He adds that he is looking forward to a new challenge, to experiencing a new culture, and excited about the new developments in the Chinese Super League. 

   The 34-year-old is expected to earn around £200,000 per week at his new club.

JAY Z SUED FOR COPYRIGHT OVER HIS MEMOIR 'DECODED'

Hip-Hop Mogul, Jay Z has been sued for copyright over his memoir "Decoded". The rapper is being sued  by Patrick White, who says he wrote large portions of "Decoded". Decoded, which is partly a memoir and partly a book of lyrics with accompanying explanations, was published in 2010, but, according to Patrick White, who has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, most of it was stolen from his laptop computer.

White, who submitted the handwritten lawsuit last week, alleges that his laptop was taken in 2009 and the '99 Problems' rapper has failed to response to his requests to be credited appropriately. He is suing for copyright infringement and invasion of property. 

PREZZO CRIES FOR ROKI

After Roki and Maaneta were disqualified from Big Brother House, the house all of a sudden became soooo dull and surprisingly quiet.
At night, Prezzo who was actually Roki's closest pal was in tears, as he wailed while Goldie comforted him like a good wife...
Apparently Prezzo had not eaten anything but when he announced he wanted to eat late at night, his girlfriend, Goldie was sooo happy as she rushed to dish him his food.
While eating the food, Prezzo continued to crying leaving him to look so ugly and very old.
Actually i thought Goldie would have seen the way he looked and changed her mind on liking, oops, i mean loving him soo much.

 Left to me, i wonder why Goldie was shedding tears. Obviously she was not crying for Maneta (she actually nominated her) and for Roki, they were not really close. I can count the times they actually sat down to talk. Though few days back, Roki had told her that his children (i was surprised too) had a new aunt (he referred to her).
Barbz who was forming reading a novel or so was sniffing her nose too. I also wondered who she really missed. She actually will miss her gossip partner, Maneta but i know deep in her heart she must be happy because the eviction this week may not hold, and apparently she is sort of saved. For Roki, both of them did not really get along if you ask me.

ABUJA CLUBS TELL DAVIDO,"GO"!

Reports have it that Davido was bounced out of Caribbean Club in Abuja for not abiding by the dress code of the club.  He came in with his clique and they were all dressed in tank tops...lol. So he got bounced.
Reports also have it that, that very night he was also sent out of Cubana, also known as Klub Vanity...i dont really know why but amebos say that Davido exchanged words with the bouncers before he left with his clique.
Well, all i know is that Davido and his clique are fond of wearing tank tops, he also wore a tank top even at AY's show yesterday, 17th of June 2012.
An advice to Davido, he should try, even if it seems so hard for him, he should really try to part ways with his lovely tank tops and embrace some clothing. We still have a mental picture of the tattoos...we love him either way, because as they say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

NYC club where Chris Brown, Drake fought is closed

Police have shut down the New York City nightclub where singer Chris Brown and rapper Drake's entourage got into a bottle-throwing brawl.
A New York Police Department spokeswoman says the club W.i.P in the city's SoHo neighborhood was closed Saturday night because of code violations. The NYPD gave no details on the violations.
Chris Brown, his girlfriend and his bodyguard were among eight injured during the fight inside the club last week. Police say members of Drake's entourage stopped Brown as he was leaving. The fight escalated and bottles were thrown.
San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker says he suffered a scratched retina during the brawl.

Thai culture chiefs go Gaga over singer's "offensive" show

Thailand's government has hit out at pop sensation Lady Gaga for a second time in as many weeks by filing a police complaint over the singer's "offensive" use of its national flag during her sellout concert last month.
The Culture Ministry said Gaga's use of the flag, tied to the back of a motorcycle while dressed in provocative outfit, was "inappropriate" and disrespectful to its people, a ministry official told Reuters, requesting anonymity because she was not authorized to speak to the media.
Lady Gaga performed before 50,000 fans in Bangkok on May 25 as part of a world tour that caused controversy in the Philippines and South Korea and prompted organizers to cancel her show in Indonesia after Islamic groups objected to her "vulgar" style.
The Grammy Award winner had already upset some Thais when she Tweeted to her 24 million followers upon arrival in Bangkok her plans to buy a fake Rolex watch at one of the city's ubiquitous street markets.

RIP YVETTE WILSON.

Yvette Wilson, a comic who was featured on the 1990s sitcom "Moesha" and its spinoff, "The Parkers," has died.
Her manager, Holly Carter, says Wilson died of cervical cancer on Thursday. Wilson was 48 and lived in Hollywood, where Carter said she had managed a music label and worked in real estate in recent years.
Wilson portrayed Andell Wilkerson, owner of the popular hangout The Den on "Moesha." The UPN sitcom starred the singer Brandy.
Wilson was a standup comic and was featured on "In Living Color." She also appeared in the movies " Poetic Justice" and "House Party III."

CHRIS BROWN HOSPITALIZED

R&BSinger, Chris Brown was hospitalized after reportedly having his face slashed open during a fight with YMCMB rapper, Drake. The singer was hit in the face with a bottle multiple times when the pair came to blows in New York Club last night apparently following an argument sparked by Rihanna who has dated both men.
Reports claim the fight broke out when Brown sent a bottle of champagne to Drake's table, which was quickly sent back with a message boasting about Drizzy having slept with Brown's Ex, Rihanna.
Brown immediately confronted the rapper and reportedly got punched in the face before being repeatedly hit with a bottle, opening a 2-inch gash on his chin.
Drake immediately left the club while Chris ended up hospitalized and needed stitches.

Jamaican dancehall and reggae superstar, Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques got married to his long time girlfriend Jodi Stewart in a lavish wedding last weekend in Jamaica.

Sean and jodi, a popular TV personality in Jamaica  have been dating since 2002 and got engaged two years ago . They are currently on honeymoon.

This crazy but cool dude just told me he clocked 29 today. Denrele Edun who says his black berry phone is hanging due to the fact that he has thousands of messages to read, is still clueless on how to spend his birthday.

2FACE'S ALBUM LAUNCH CONCERT

Yesterday, 10th of June 2012 was a successful night for our Nigerian Musician, 2face who launched his album, "Away and Beyond". And the large turnout of people was awesome.

The show started early and ended a bit late but the crowd stayed till the end. First time in history. The whole seats in the auditorium were occupied and that of the gallery in Transcorp Hilton, Abuja . From the pix above you'll know a lot of people were there to support 2face Idibia.
Well the event was a successful one as he entertained the audience for over 2hrs non stop from with his new releases then to the old ones and also sang some Plantashaun songs with his brother from his brother from another mother, Faze.

Those who performed were the likes of funny bone, Akpororo, Vector, Jay Martins, Efa and so many up and coming artistes.

Those who came to watch were the high and mighty, 2face's parents, uncle, wife, Annie Macaulay and his daughter.
The turn out was record breaking even in the face of security challenges in the country.
